Telehealth Solutions’ CardioPod, Helping Health in the Workplace
Telehealth Solutions have used their pioneering technology and software development to create a system aimed at improving health within the work environment. Telehealth Solutions’ CardioPod is a mobile system which, with professional supervision, can be used to facilitate the recently introduced NHS Health Check within the work force, allowing organisations take care of the health of their workforce in a structured, efficient manner.
The NHS Health Check is a government initiative for adults aged 40-74 aimed at preventing prevalent diseases such as heart disease, stroke, type II diabetes or kidney disease through early assessment of risk and personalised advice on how to reduce the threat.
The CardioPod has a specific questionnaire aimed at assessing occupational health and identifying areas of concern. With the current financial situation, individuals are, in many cases, under additional stress at work, this can exacerbate potential for diseases identified by the NHS Health Check.
Telehealth Solution’s Executive Chairman, Jeremy Cummin states;
“The CardioPod allows us to undertake health checks that previously would have required a lab and take time for results to reach the patient. With these advancements, the NHS Health Checks can be undertaken by trained professionals during a short break within the work place. The risk can then be significantly reduced through providing accurate advice and support.”
Complete with Cholestech LDX blood chemistry analyzer, capability to read vital sign information and ability to measure blood glucose, the CardioPod can complete health checks in one sitting, with instant feedback available to the patients. Patients can also explore their cardiovascular risk score and receive instant recommendations on how to decrease the potential risk. After completing the tests patients received detailed information and advice on their results, and if necessary are referred to their GP.
