The Health Check Pod is very patient-friendly and easy to use – the touch-screen means that even those unfamiliar with keyboards can answer the standard Health Check questions. They also benefit from the fact the Health Check can be completed quickly and with instant results, with all procedures such as patient consent covered by the system.

The results are presented in a patient-friendly way too, using easy-to-understand visuals to display the risk score. The system allows the healthcare assistant to recalculate this score by showing the patient what would happen if they made adjustments to their lifestyle – providing the patient with a tangible demonstration of what benefits come about as a result of simple changes to the way they live.

The patient partakes in a jointly engaging process with the healthcare assistant, the outcomes of which can be easily documented using the reporting functionality available on the Health Check Pod. Both the patient and the healthcare assistant are supplied with a printout of the agreed plans of action, with the added ability for the former to suggest GP referral where necessary. This can also be stored on the secure server for follow-up when the next check is done.
