Occupational Health
What it does
The Occupational Health Pod is a self-service kiosk that allows employees to carry out a quick, secure and comprehensive occupational health check – completely unaided.
Placed in an office for a set period, employees are encouraged to use the Occupational Health Pod to measure vital signs and answer questionnaires on the device as a preliminary screening session for potential occupational health issues.
The results are then uploaded to a secure program that OH services can view and use to select patients for follow-up appointments.
It can also be used as a point-of-care device in consultations, eliminating time required for data entry, record management and administration.
Questionnaires include:
Stress, depression (HADS), disability, anxiety, physical activity, health and safety adherence, sleep pattern, smoking status, alcohol use, and more
Benefits to the Employer
Improved attendance, as issues are detected before they demand an absence, which in turn reduces the staff cost and efficiency consumed by sick days.
Reduced cost of OH services as time required for preliminary OH screening is cut.
Improved morale and participation in OH with its image of convenience and confidentiality.
In short, the HealthPod rejuvenates any organisation and its occupational health service by improving staff efficiency, eliminating waste, and making staff feel valued.
Benefits to the OH Service
Greater efficacy with less effort, more are screened in a fraction of the time required
More informed consultations as results from self-service checks are sent to software OH services can see and use in follow-up appointments.
Time with staff is spent on discussion and advice rather than the simple measurements taken in their preliminary screening
Benefits to Employees
More convenient checks, as employees can attend whenever they want without leaving the office.
Greater privacy, as staff can take tests while completely alone, no nurse or interviewer is present to make them feel embarrassed
Staff are less likely to be ill or injured, and generally healthier because of lifestyle advice given in an occupational health consultation
